You started your Formation; now it’s time to go official, and start running tournaments. In time, your team will become an Advanced Squadron, and truly be able to speak to the future of Lightspeed Saber fencing.

SQUADRON

A Squadron is a formally recognized group of Lightspeed Saber fencers. A squadron has greater knowledge than a Formation and is moving toward holding its own competitions.

  • Have a designated squadron leader or co-leaders.

  • Hold at least one regularly scheduled practice or session a month specifically for Lightspeed Saber fencing.

  • Have at least one social media account or website.*

  • Have a municipal squadron name based on the nearest city or nearest major city. (Sometimes the state is acceptable.)

  • Certify the squadron leader on the ref exams Levels 0, 1, & 2.*

  • Sign all current and future members to our online waiver.*

  • Submit a team photo once a year.

* (Adjustments can be made for schools and businesses that already have their own insurance, waivers, and social media. Talk to us.)

BENEFITS

Your team:

If you’re renewing membership, you only need to fill in the required sections and anything that has changed. We would like updated photos once a year.
