SAFETY EQUIPMENT
All fencers
must wear a fencing mask and lacrosse gloves or equivalent while sparring. Gloves must weigh at least 4 oz (each) and have inner wrist protection.
Anyone under 16
should also wear elbow pads and chest & shoulder pads when bouting, whether at practice or in tourney.
The 3/4” OD Lightspeed blade
is the only blade appropriate for Lightspeed Saber fencing.
All competitors

COMBAT SAFETY
Stabbing or pointing
the saber at the opponent from an extended guard is unsafe and illegal, even when accidental.
Hits to the groin
as well as any upward swings to anywhere below the waist are unsafe and illegal.
Hits to the legs
(knee and below) should always be percussive and never be powered all the way through.
Only the blade
of the lightsaber should be used to hit someone when they are mentally and physically ready to be hit. Attacking with anything else in any other situation is wrong and illegal.
